Hi, I'm Steph — and I'm so glad you're here!

I'm a Bay of Plenty local, living with my husband and kids in one of the most beautiful coastal corners of New Zealand. I'm genuinely passionate about seeking out beautiful, well-made products and bringing them to New Zealand and Australia — and every piece in the Cala collection is something I'd choose for myself.

Cala was born from a love of the Mediterranean Coast — unhurried days where the water is clear and time slows down. In Catalan,"Cala" means "cove" — those hidden, sun-drenched inlets that capture exactly what a perfect beach day should feel like.

At the heart of Cala are our towels — hand loomed in Turkey from 100% natural Turkish cotton, with every fringe knotted by hand. Made slowly, carefully, and with genuine pride.

Everything we do comes back to five things: a commitment to quality in every piece we choose; originality in what we bring to market; authenticity in how we show up; creativity in the way we see coastal living — and community, because none of it means much without the people we share it with.
